Extracurricular activites:Soccer,table tennis,chess.
Awards: Second and first in Turkmenistan National Physics Olympiad my junior and senior years respectively,2 times international physics olympiad bronze medal winner
Ashgabat under-18 soccer team player, second place at turkmenistan under 18 league, first prize in Ashgabat amateur players chess competition…bunch of other minor awards.
voluntary work:tutored physics to junior olympians, approximately 300+ hours(in my last year at high school),though I did it only for fun,our school doesn’t require voluntary work.
recommendations:must be fine
work: after graduating worked two and half years as assistant of Headman of Agriculturing Union.I tell more about that in my supplementary document.

essays: I feel my essays are really my strongest points. My first short essay is about a period when I just passed to Ashgabat U-18,how I trained and how my determination in hard game gave me influence over other players:cool:.It has very technical points though. Second essay is a story of a “luck bird” flying in the sky and looking for someone to land on…it’s very saturated and sarcastic tale about animals who clumsily startle off this bird…Both essays are very bold, though I’m not sure if it is the correct way to write essays:p

I’m applying to Harvard,Yale,Amherst,Williams,Dartmouth,Princeton and maybe Middlebury.
Can you rate my chances to be accepted by one of this institutions?
Haven’t submitted my applications yet,so would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance:).

ops…sorry,can somebody remove one?

The SAT scores (non math) are what will kill you in admissions. Everything else looks fine. You should apply to all those schools and hope for the best, but perhaps consider some easier ones? Your race I think will really help and your geographical location will make you stand out from all the rich kids living in California/New York.

How will they kill him, he isn’t even native speaker? For non-natives 600+ is fine, unless they go to English based school.

OP, salam, are you studying in English language? With olympiad and good math/physics you should try MIT, good shot…

Initially I also wanted to apply to Northwestern and Syracuse, but decided to withdraw my application when I found out they don’t follow need-blind admission policy.this 7(and MIT) are only universities that offer need-based financial aid for international students.

Alone, waleykim salam, great to see someone recognize us.I went to turkmen-turkish school which is considered as English-based,though their English is not good enough. I needed to study on my own for English…
for MIT…well, they don’t accept common application which is bad for them :p

Even so, 650 is pretty good score, you will be fine. You might want to take toefl and ace 119, to disperse any doubts. Hello from Azerbaijan  Yea, MIT has it’s own app, but they really like internationals who score perfect in math and science + have olympiad honours. So you should really try.

Alone,thank you for advice,yes,maybe I should try.I’ll consider that.
