Can you refuse the first housing offer?

Can freshmen refuse the first housing offer (northwood) and hold out for an alternate assignment? We’re supposed to be guaranteed housing, right? Worst case is they give you northwood again?

Yes, freshmen can refuse the first-round housing offer, but you won’t hear back from them until late August for the second-round. Then it’s not guaranteed that you’ll get northwood again.

wow freshmen getting an offer on northwood? that’s ridiculous, that’s not even a dorm…

^They’re short on housing. I had a friend (senior) who was supposed to live in Northwood, but they kicked him out because they needed his room to house freshmen. He got compensation though - there were several options and he chose to take $1500 in compensation.

LOL that’s what happens when 6900 admitted students paid their deposits, with a projected class of 6300+.

this is funny. Freshman in northwood?

turn it down, man, there is no place worse than Northwood on campus
