Can you still pass AP Literature if you have weak reading skills?

AP English Literature: I do not have a good reading comprehensions at times. And the reason of that is because of a weak concentration and distractions. My comprehension is at average or below average. I’m very bad at answering questions because all five answer choices can look the same to me.

However, I have good writing skills and apt vocabulary. In fact, I relied on my writing to pass the AP World History Exam last May. I got a 3 on APWH, but I think I did so because of my essays.

So, from now on I will read tremendously for 2 hours everyday until May to improve my reading. I’m serious about this new habit for this new year. I won’t just rely on my essays anymore because I have to get a 4 on the Exam in order for my colleges to accept the credit.

It’s possible, as long as you continue to practice. I just finished taking this course, and I tutored someone in my class with a similar issue. You probably already know this, but annotating is everything. I helped the student I was tutoring work on their annotation skills, and it helped improve his ability to comprehend the passage and the questions. Annotate everything, cross out wrong answers as you consider them, and try to go with your first instinct. You only need to get over 50% correct and nail your essays to pass.
