Hi guys,
can you give some ideas please on essay about this poem!
every small help is much appreciated:)

In the middle of the road there was a stone
there was a stone in the middle of the road
there was a stone
in the middle of the road there was a stone

I’ll never forget this event
in the lifetime of my tired eyes
I’ll never forget that in the middle of the road
there was a stone
there was a stone in the middle of the road
in the middle of the road there was a stone

Forgive me, but I am not sure what the poem even means, let alone how to write an essay about it. Providing some insight into what this means to YOU could help us out.

No, the opposite. The “stone in the middle of the road” means you can’t compromise… you must go around the stone, on way or another… how do you choose? what are the qualities of life that send you in one direction vs another. What event forced you to make a choice?

I interpreted it totally differently than you guys all did.

I saw it as someone seeing something profound in what is clearly average and uninteresting. A possible idea for a personal essay (like what you would find on a college application) would be some instance in which you had gained a deeper knowledge of something that you had always noticed and not thought much of. Or, rather, something you found beauty or took interest in that nobody else thought much of.
