CANADIAN parents w/ kids applying to US

<p>Hello!</p>

<p>Any Canadian parents with kids applying to schools in the US???</p>

<p>My son has applied to HYPM and Cornell for Sept. 2010. He was recently rejected from MIT but the next day offered admission to Nanotechnology Engineering at the University of Waterloo. </p>

<p>Most people in my community can not imagine sending their kids outside of Ontario for university–even my son’s counselor did not have a clue how to apply to the US.</p>

<p>University websites and CC has been my only source of information.</p>

<p>Anyone else in a similar situation?</p>

<p>I have lived in Canada and have many friends who sent their kids to US schools, so feel free to PM me any specific questions</p>

<p>We went through the process last year and really isn’t that bad if you follow all of the steps. The college should be able to help 95% of the way. If I can offer any any ideas or help let me know in a pm</p>
