<p>I signed a lease in May to live in Wesley House beginning in August. I visited the house in person but I didn’t pay the deposit or anything. However, when I called them to ask about my first installment today, the phone number had been disconnected. I called 411 and looked up both Wesley House and their phone number, and neither were listed. There is no other way to contact them. (I have an email address I used to contact the manager but I can’t be sure they even read them now).
I am in Alaska and the housing complex is in Berkeley, CA.
I could search for a new place but since I had a contract with this place, I don’t know if I can break the contract just like that.
Would it be okay if I were to just look for another housing complex instead, since I haven’t paid anything except the application fee ($30 or so?) and I cannot reach them and I haven’t gotten any bills or anything?
