What I want to be/major in.

I’m thinking either psychology, Pharmacy, or nutrition. I’ve never been all that passionate about anything and I fear I’ll never truly love what I aspire to be. Though I am only a sophomore, I can’t help but look at my mudpie of ec’s and think that the colleges will just think, “padding.” What are some things I could also write about in my essays? I was think about writing about my mother’s depression and how it has affected me and my family and possibly the other would be about all the charity work I’m going to do.

I know I’m rambling but any insight you guys have is much appreciated. I’m not all that worried but I figure the earlier start the better.

Thank you!

Okay, if you’re a sophomore, don’t worry so much about these things!

As far as your ECs go, try to find which ones you enjoy more (even if you don’t think that you’re ‘all that passionate’ about any of them) and pursue leadership positions in them so that colleges won’t see them as padding. For college essays, well, when you actually get around to applying to college, you’ll read the prompts and go from there. What do you mean by “all the charity work I’m going to do?” From what it sounds like, that’s probably not the best essay topic. Write an essay that will really reveal something about your personality and who you are.

Most kids go to college undecided, it’s okay to do so. Even those who go with an intended major often switch out. Wait till you’ve taken classes in psychology, pharmacy, and nutrition before deciding what you want to major in. It’ll be more clear what you love once you’ve actully experienced it/learned more about it.
