Can't decide...

So here’s how im doing so far.

APs: World History 5
Currently taking: Calculus BC, Language Comp, Psychology, US History

Extracurricular: Mu Alpha Theta, Beta, Math Team (for some reason this is different from Mu Alpha Theta at my school), Kendo, Breakdance Crew
Awards: Several awards for kendo. Student Award for Spanish. Nothing extraordinary…

I know its really not much compared to those whose resumes I’ve read so far…
I feel like I’m not involved in enough extracurricular activities.
Can someone give me a word of advice here?
The breakdance crew, I don’t know if I can put that down as EC activity. And also, I’m deciding whether or not I should quit kendo and get involved in a school athletics team like track. My test scores should be pretty solid so I’m trying to focus on getting more involved in EC activities.
Over the summer this year, I’m going to be tutoring Pre-Calculus and do some self-studying as well. Can this count for something?

If you do breakdance crew and it is something you love, helps define who you are, I certainly would be putting it down as an EC.

Honestly at this point I don’t think switching Kendo for track will make your application look any stronger but if you are interested in track you should give it a try.

^^^Total agreement.

Thank you bluebird and synchrotron.
I’ve never done track before but I’m looking forward to it.

now why would you give up something bad ass and unique like break dancing for track? :-)

stick with your passions kid. you’re on the right track, just make sure you do A LOT of one thing. for example, if there are break dance competitions and camps over the summer, DO THEM. explore your passions, you’re only a sophomore and haven’t screwed up so you don’t have to worry, just make sure you don’t give up break dancing since you’ve been doing it for a while.

oh i would never give up break dancing!
in fact i’ll be competiting this next saturday.
thank you for your advice Vhiremath4! im sticking with my passion.
