I know a lot of my friends have already secured an internship for the summer while I’m still applying to every relevant internship I come across. Has anyone else been in the same boat as I am and have you been successful?
Yes, there still are internships advertised. I suggest you sign up with a couple of those sites that send you daily emails of what is available in your area. e.g. Glassdoor, internships.com, intern match.
Post #1, those sites are not helpful. My daughter sent out tons and received nothing. She got her internship at her school.
I think it depends on what area you live and your major. My son did get an internship from an ad in internship.com.
The problem with school ads is that they tend to have many from companies surrounding the school. If you live far from the school and want to intern closer to home, the school may not have connections that far away.
Post #3, it depends on the school. My daughter found an internship 400 miles away from school and home.
