Can't shake bad feelings about Case.

Thanks for the quick feedback! We are all set for a 1/22 visit, on our way to visit family in Columbus and then Carnegie Mellon Sleeping Bag Weekend 1/24-1/25. Just got back the confirmation and am awaiting schedule email. I’m getting excited about the trip.

My son has loved his rigourous IB program, with tons of music EC along the way (piano, sax, composing). So even though he wants to major in Engineering (or Physics or Math), he wants strong Humanities classes as well.

We have a great state school, CO School of Mines, an hour away… but that will likely be too techie-centric. And CU Boulder may be just too darn big (25,000 students) and also to close to home. His favorite choice right now is Harvey Mudd (part of Claremont Colleges… 5 adjacent colleges/5000 students), with undergrad emphasis and lots of research opportunities. But Mudd is pricey even if he gets their merit scholarship. I’m thinking that CWRU will have some of the attributes that he liked at Mudd (except of course palm trees), with good scholarship opportunity. He is a National Merit Semifinalist with superb SAT scores and GPA.
