I’d love to go to Upenn but it seems like a stretch…what’s my chance of getting into an Ivy? Is there anything I could/should do in the time remaining? I’m receiving minimal support from my parents… and since you’ve read through the whole thing please reply ^ ^ thanks

I think you have very little need to worry about anything. Maybe it’s just me.

thanx ^ ^ i don’t know exactly how much those ivy colleges except so any comments/suggestions are welcome.

Well they don’t accept kids who spell accept “except,” that’s for sure.

Just kidding :)

that burns xD

expect instead of except…

princetonfreak, i think that was out of line…

you’re asian too… ***. you could have more constructive criticism. i actually didn’t think you had a chance at princeton.

uh k…

please do explain to me why magnet/asian hurt so much?

*don’t wanna start another flaming thread here

Tbh, your chances are low, but it depends I guess on your essays and your SAT scores.

As for the Asian thing, unfortunately in America being Asian hurts people’s chances of getting into uni because every Asian scores perfect on the SATs and seems to do very well. It’s annoying, but true. (I’m half-Asian…and it’s a beyatch.)

doesn’t being asian make you a minority?

lol it’s ok i was just kidding =)

zip: yeah i was worried about that too… thanx for being honest(althro brutally… xD jk)

dgo123

true…other minorities are protected, asians are not. xD

toothpickforest, i sent you a PM.

why did the other posts delete? was it reported?

damn, im a minority and it’s not even working for me. aiya, that truly sucks!

yeah i know how you feel… exact same feeling.

being asian does sort of suck. :)

i assume someone reported it…not me thro.

asian ppl are doing too good in general and that’s bad for all of us. how ironic. xD

lol yeah  i know what you mean…

boo smarties. jk. :)

apply ed and ur in. A friend of mine applied ED with stats similar to yours (she’s chinese) and she had almost 0 clubs and no sports. Either her essays were ridiculously good, or you’re in ED

being asian does somewhat hurt chances of getting into a university. because as someone mentioned above, many have very very good stats therefore the avg stat/caliber shifts up so when an admissions officer sees an asian with a lower than avg stat, they don’t give them much importance. this is usually the case for the higher ranked schools

Yah, i mean Asians are not a minority because of AMAZING stats.

it sucks that the usual asian has good stats, but they don’t get more acceptances to good schools.
