Cape Cod Restaurants' Immigration Problems

What I don’t understand is why they aren’t required to import workers from impoverished areas of the US.

^^^
For starters, there isn’t any requirement whatsoever to hire anyone, from any group of workers, foreign or not.
Impoverished workers wouldn’t necessarily make the best workers when dealing with the public.
Take for instance Atlantic City retail, compared to Las Vegas retail…they tend to hire local in AC, pretty rude most of the time , but in Vegas there are people from all over the counry and MUCH more polite and friendly.

Employers can choose whoever they want to fit the needs of their businesses.
For some, it is foreigners all the way…others only Americans.

I personally choose local high kids because they are here during the times I need them. We can delve even deeper and say, I won’t hire soccer players or field hockey because I know they will leave me too soon because of their team commitments.
Even though most college students leave too early, they are also here when the high schoolers are still in school…also helpful to me.
I never have to place an ad or put up a sign looking for help.
We always seem to have sibling referals, and often have brother/sister tag teams…kind of like an inheritance of sorts !
What I would love would be teachers, but most of them are too tired from the demands of the school year .
I have also learned to be wary of hiring kids whose mothers try to get them hired…big problems there
