caps?

I know that most colleges say there aren’t any caps on the number of students that will be accepted from a certain school, but is this true? What about from a particular geographic area?

They do want geographic diversity- it has a lot to do with how large the school is, but they do sometimes only admit a couple from certain places.

Seconding what brillar says - but usually it’s not an explicit number. For example, they may know that they want more kids from Wyoming and fewer from California, but they’re not thinking “Okay, absolutely no more than 150 from California!” It’s more of a general goal.
