Car Rental at Indianapolis Airport

We are flying in with US Airways. Looking to rent a car to visit IU. Which will be most convenient to rent? Is Enterprise the only one you can get to without taking a shuttle? We will be pressed with time when we arrive.

Very easy airport. The rental counters are all at the airport and you walk right out to the cars. Rented with Enterprise due to price but the other car companies had counters in the terminal.
The airport is very manageable. Also easy driving getting in and out of airport.

I appreciate an easy airport! If the airport is small, probably no one needs a shuttle to get to the car. Enterprise listed on their website that you don’t need a shuttle, how they are right there and such. The others may have assumed it’s obvious and didn’t bother.

The airport is fairly new (2 years now?) so I haven’t rented from there yet. The old airport did require shuttle buses and some budget rental agencies were kind of far, but still not the worst. Anyway, the current airport is very spacious and modern and seems very efficient.

Is the old airport near the new one? I am a bit confused by Google map. It shows Enterprise away from other rentals.

I am not sure but I know that the GPS units that the rental car company use do not have up the latest maps. We were told how to exit the airport to the freeway and to ignore what the GPS was telling us till we were on the highway.
We were visiting Purdue. Our return flight was in the early AM so I returned the rental the night before and used the shuttle from our hotel. We stayed at the Hampton Inn near the new airport. It was nice and new and close to the airport.
