Car Washes

Hey guys! I’m planning to have a car wash this weekend. How much should each car be washed for? (Our goal is to raise $400). The car wash is from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The car wash is located on a very busy road.
Any information would help! Thank you!

*Hi futureiceskater! lol

You just double posted a thread. Try not to do that if possible.
$5-$10/car might be applicable, depending on what kind of services you are offering.

our orchestra and band in middle school had an annual car wash for our disneyland trip. we never had a set price for the cars but did it on donation. we made more money this way than we would have with a set price because the minimum people give is $5 but with donation it allows people to give more if they want. i don’t know it was just always how our teacher did it. if you do want to set a price though i would say $5 since you are probably just washing the car and not doing anything else. good luck with it!!!

$7.99 is more like it.

We have a carwash for cheerleading every year…we do really well charging $5 a car and accepting any additional donations. Ours is also on a somewhat-busy street, so we usually have girls standing up and down it with signs directing people to the carwash- it works great, and it’s basically free advertising.

We just take donations. Usually people give $15-$20.

Wearing less clothing is also a successful business strategy…

6 hours? if u have at least 10 people working constantly…u will raise close to $500-$1000 (depending on your charity and/or cause!)

we raised $500 for a girl in our school who had brain cancer in about 2.5 hours with around 10 people washing

if ur raising money for like your class or club, then people will be less sympathetic and thus less generous so u may only hit the lower side

also depends on the socio-economic background of the neighborhood ur washing in.
