For any current or former nurses out there… What is/was your job like? What did you do? Would you choose to become a nurse again if you had the choice?
I absolutely love being a nurse. I love my job everyday and feel so lucky that I work at such an awesome hospital. I specialize in Neonatal nursing and the relationship I have with the Dr’s, other nurses and families is incredible. We really work as a team and I am fulfilled daily. Nursing school was tough in all regards but I found my dream career and could not have made a better choice! Hope this helps
My first job out of nursing school was on a Med surgery floor at a large teaching hospital. It was the best start to my career. I learned a tremendous amount and felt challenged every day. Working with interns and residents who were also learning is tremendously stimulating. I have been an RN for over 30 years. I no longer do hands on nursing but I would become a nurse again and would follow my same career path as I have done over the years. Nursing allows one to have such variety in their work, you will never stop learning.
