I am a sophomore in college and my current major is Environmental Science (focusing on Food Systems and Sustainable Ag.). I am really interested in urban agriculture. My ideal career vision is to help the less fortunate that do not have healthy food readily available to them. I enjoy mission work, and would like to help people in Food Deserts so they can grow their own food. I was wondering if there is a specific career that incorporates teaching people about sustainable ag. or something along that line. I also enjoy political science, but do not know if that could be incorporated in anyway.
Good for you! Urban Ag is such an interesting and important field. I suggest that you reach out to people who are working in the field right now and get more info on your future career. It sounds like you have a good start given the areas you are studying.
Here’s a list of current projects around the world, many in the US, that are addressing just what you are considering. Contact a few that sound interesting and take it from there!
