Carl Wins Churchill Scholarship

Michael Coughlin won 1 of this year’s 14 Churchill Scholarships to pursue graduate work in astronomy at Cambridge. Carleton was one of only two LACs to have winners this year.

He’s apparently “authored three and co-authored seven professional, scientific journal articles.” Sounds more like someone ready for a tenure track position after completing a post-doc than someone just finishing up a BS (and still has time to competitively dance!).

Add 2 Goldwater Scholarships for 2012 - one to further study in chem/biochem (and sketch comedy), the other in physics/astrophysics (and competitive ballroom dancing) - welcome additions to the Churchill granted in astronomy (and salsa/latin dance). Again, congrats all around!
