I am a senior in high school, and I am probably going to major in chemistry. I was wondering between the two, which would be the better one considering that I am planning on graduate school.

Hubby does chem grad school admissions for a top 10 grad school and said that both programs are fine. Candidates with a 3.5 GPA and good GREs would likely be admitted from both programs. Carleton has better name recognition but both schools have fine chem programs. Go to the school you like the best.

Carleton has a higher national ranking and prestige and it is hard to argue against a school like Carleton. However, St Olaf has an absolutely stunning brand new science building that might make you fall in love with that school. Both are very good but are very different in terms of size and student body so you will need to decide what is the school that best fits your personality. Fortunately they are only a mile apart.
