Not a single acceptance today???
Friday guess they all went home lol
oh and here i was thinking it meant something lol i thought it at least indicated i was kinda competitive
So far people have only posted about waitlist decisions.
something probably went wrong again. we should have seen the next batch at 5pm. It seems like there are still a lot of people without a decision. Not a good look for a top CS school.
Son got waitlisted for CS.
I think they donât make a distinction between âwaitlistâ and âpriority waitlistâ. The first decision letter doesnât even have the word âpriorityâ at all. The second letter (waitlist confirmation) afterward says:
The Carnegie Mellon University Admission Committee has received your request to be added to the priority waitlist for admission for Fall 2024. We will make final decisions about waitlisted applicants no later than June 30, 2024, and those who are offered admission from the priority waitlist will be contacted by email.
Because we cannot guarantee future admission for waitlisted students, âŠ
i.e. added to the âpriority waitlistâ = âwaitlistedâ.
Unless some see the choice of âpriority waitlistâ and some see âwaitlistâ only in the radio button, I think they use the terms interchangeably.
My two cents.
Is Art the only department that didnât get a decision? We didnât receive a decision:( Also, how come all decisions that came out today were waitlists?!
Waitlisted. Was it really necessary to hold off the decisions for waitlisted candidates for an extra week?
I would like to know the same thing! Nothing from art here.
Right? What is going on? I saw several different people on here and reddit saying that they were told by admissions that there would only be one more batch of decisions released today. However, given that everyone today got waitlisted, Iâm assuming that we got waitlisted too:( Also, what is the deal with everyone being waitlisted?
We donât know one person that applied to Art that has gotten a decision either way. Really annoying!
Exactly - I donât understand why they did this. Unless the âtechnical difficultiesâ that they were having earlier had to do with waitlists not being able to be sent out. However, could they really have waitlisted this many people? Of course, CC is only a small representation of all applicants.
We (art majors) were ghosted again:(
The Applying2College Discord posted ~120 Waitlists today. No acceptances or rejections. A couple of Dietrich applicants report that they are yet to receive a decision.
Last year CMU waitlist ~8900 kids
Is 120 the number of people you counted on the discord? Or the number that Carnegie Mellon released? So if last Friday definitely had acceptances (and at least some rejections), and this second batch had only waitists - then I wonder what will happen to the last batch(es)? It canât be only Art majors that are still waiting for decisions, right? Most people apply to CMU for the CS or Engineering - Iâm still surprised that we havenât heard about too many rejections. On every other college board, there are always a decent amount of people who post about their rejections.
Confirming another art student no portal notice yet
No architecture decision either.
Isnât the whole undergrad 7,500? And the freshman class around 1,700? Why would they waitlist so many kids? Seems sort of cruel. ETA: And incredibly lazy.
