What is the difference between priority waitlist and waitlist. Are they one and the same.

no priority wl is for people who are 100% committed to attend cmu if they get in (it has like a 50% acceptance rate according to the internet but someone vet that please), regular has like a 4% acceptance rate and its for people who arenât committed. TLDR priority waitlist is like the ED of waitlists

itâs totally reasonable to speculate that first batch upload failed last friday during reject upload as someone mentioned. so we saw mostly accept, small number of rejects and 0 waitlist last Friday.
CMU said they will release today 5PM EST. so these waitlists might be part of the first batch from last Friday.
Next release might be reasonable mix or accept/reject/waitlist⊠although I donât think we saw enough rejects from last Friday.
last year, they had 8,986 on the waitlist and accepted 43 from the waitlist. Itâs highly unlikely to get off the waitlist.

They offered waitlist to 8986, but only about half accepted. So the 43 admitted were from the 4500 or so who accepted waitlist. Still makes for miserable statistics for likelihood of getting off the waitlist, but just wanted to point that out.
