If I called the office of admission, would they tell me if I was already rejected? Or would they soften it by saying my application is still being reviewed?

Does anyone know the acceptance rate to SAMS and/or AP/EA?
@thefirebird Around 10% to 13% for SAMS and AP/EA is 80%, without getting a full-cost waiver. I don’t know what it would be with a cost-waiver, but I assume much lower than 80%.
In the application, there were “departmental options” when applying to AP/EA where you had to list a specific department. What exactly was the purpose of that?
Ok so this isn’t related to this year’s SAMS kids, but two of my really great SAMS friends, who were one of many of the couples we had last year, both got into UChicago and are thinking about going and it’s honestly kind of adorable. The social aspect of SAMS is definitely an interesting one. I actually remember reading that two of the SAMS scholars from the early 2000’s actually got married. Life really does work out in mysterious ways!
@thefirebird That has to deal with what specific department/college you plan to work with (Humanities, Science, Engineering, etc.). You just choose the department which falls in line with the courses you want to take.

I called the CMU Admission this afternoon and found out that they have not made any decision for my application yet.
I submitted all my documents in January 2018 so I didn’t take a look at my portal till today. I just found out that CMU added unofficial test score report section that I need to upload it. I just submitted them today with my updated transcript.
Hopefully they are still considering.
