I’m applying for engineering undecided in all these colleges.
My SAT I scores have been really bad. My highest was 1920. But my SAT II have been quite satisfactory. 780 in MathII, 760 in Physics and 730 in Chem (disappointing again, i know)
Predicted grades for my 5 A-levels are three A*s in Math, Physics and Chemistry along with 2 As in Economics and Biology.
I have about 90 hours in a volunteering program, about 20 hours in an entrepreneurship workshop (i know, i wasted my time, it isnt even related to science). My other activities are Art and Athletics. I’ll be applying only to these universities and taking my chances. But seriously, what are the odds that I’ll get in?

I think it’s not wise to apply to only these. ALWAYS keep safeties I think your SAT score is too low for UPenn so if you apply your essay will have to be amazing. I think you might be a low reach for georgiatech and a low reach/possible match for Northwestern (SAT II scores save you here). I think Carnegie Mellon might be a reach as well. If you want a decent shot, you should give SAT again
You do fit into NYU’s range though, you should think about applying there
Good luck
Chance back?

I do have safe colleges, just not in the States
I’m in my senior year and the common app is due in less than a week so I can’t retake my SAT.
My cousin who is in Cornell and my brother who got accepted to Northwestern a couple of years back are helping me edit my essays and giving me input and stuff so I’m guessing they wouldn’t turn out so bad

Do SAT scores really matter so much that they triumph over other academic aspects?
