I’m down to two choices now - UCSD and CMU. Both appeal to me equally right now, and I’m having trouble deciding. Any suggestions?

cmu is a great school for mech eng

Hey, i kind of have the same dilemma… i applied to cmu w/ the intended major of civil engineering. i visited UCSD on admit day… it’s an awesome school. although cmu is a good school, just go with what clicks. besides, cmu ranks 8th or 9th in engineering overall while ucsd ranks 11th. it’s not that much of a difference… kinda, but not really. did you visit either campus? im visiting cmu later this month.

^blurbrok you should really visit cmu. when i went there it was so beautiful… and being ranked in the top ten school for eng means alot

blurbrok, i visited cmu last weekend. the campus was quite nice and clean. the surrounding city - pittsburg - wasn’t very appealing to me however.

in the engineering presentation, they went on about their programs etc, how some students can do integrated 5 year programs. interesting to note - when i talked to the presenter [dean of the engineering program] and told him about my dilemma, he essentially told me “cmu and ucsd are ranked so closely together and both offer great opportunities” … and wished me the best of luck in choosing.

sooooo…
