<p>Hi, I’m a motivated freshman in high school, and I really want to go to Carnegie Mellon University. I plan to major in Computer Science. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get accepted?</p>

<p>Get an 800 on the math section of the SAT. Obviously that’s not going to get you in but it will help.</p>
<p>You’re only a freshman, but that’s when it starts. Show leadership in clubs and activities. Volunteer for community service as much as possible. Take AP classes and get high GPA. Show an interest in math and computer science (take programming courses, or learn it on your own.) Take an apprenticeship in computer science of some sort. </p>
