Plan on majoring in Radiologic Science & minoring in Education and I know my GPA needs to be higher. Attended small Christian school my freshman year and honors classes were limited. I transferred to a large public HS that offered a better curriculum and GPA has had an upward trend since then. Should I apply early action to Carolina or wait til I get the benefit (hopefully) of the AP classes that will raise my GPA and apply in January? I am instate.

74% of UNC’s students were in the top 10% of their graduating class–which is going to make your chances of getting in extremely difficult.

When you should apply depends on how likely it is that the first semester senior classes will raise your UW GPA. You need to move this up as much as possible–meaning that waiting is probably the preferable choice. Even then you must realize that your chances are not very good–but best of luck.

(Note: Weighted GPA of average admittee to UNC is 4.19, so you are very low here–but average SAT I scores were around 1900 versus your 2100–so that should help a lot)

Are you instate or out?
