Carpet Cleaners

I’ve had my carpets cleaned in the past and have never been especially satisfied. Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaning company in southeast Michigan? I’ve looked online and there are a couple of companies recommended but would prefer hearing from people that have really used one. Also, how much should I expect to pay for having the entire house done? Quotes online ranged from $199 to $459.

Chem Dry seems scary to me. Wouldn’t I prefer them to use water than a chemical? Stanley Steemer seems like a nice name. I imagine though, that like with many companies, it mostly depends on who actually comes out, not just what company you use.

I’ve always found my local Stanley Steemer (in Florida) to be just fine, both for my own home and for my rental properties. They usually have a 3 room special for around $100-$125.

If you’re looking specifically for your area of Michigan, you might try searching for reviews online on sites like Yelp.

We’ve used Chem-Dry and they were excellent, but with any of these franchises it really depends on who the local people are. I liked them because a) they did an excellent cleaning job and b) the carpets took much less time to dry completely than with the steam method. I would ask friends or neighbors if they have recommendations.
