Carpet Cleaning Question

We’ve got carpet cleaners coming today and a house guest arriving tomorrow. How long will it take the rugs to dry? I’d love to get the furniture back in place before he gets here.

(Original plan was for him to come on Saturday, but he surprised us last night by announcing he’s coming a day early. Thanks, Dad.)

Shouldn’t be a problem…depending on what they are using to clean…usually a few hours…probably not a bad idea for him to come early; bad weather expected on Friday…is that when he’s coming? It may have to be pushed back to Sat again…haha…

I agree it shouldn’t be a problem. About the “furniture moving” – every time I have my carpets cleaned, the furniture is in place when they are done, but on styrofoam pads or something else so the furniture feet or edges aren’t directly on the carpet.

Thanks for the replies.

I kinda hope they don’t put the furniture back. I’m thinking of re-arranging but don’t know what kind of configuration yet. I was hoping to use the empty room as a chance to “try things out.” H will be the only one home during the cleaning and - by mutual agreement - he isn’t qualified to experiment with placement. ;)

I have my carpets cleaned once or twice a year as I have a very light beige carpet along with 2 cats and a dog, all acquired after we moved in! I find my carpet dries quicker in the winter when the heat is running. In the spring I leave the A/C fan running the whole time which helps with dry time. If you have ceiling fan, that will also speed up the process.

Dry time also will depend on the method used to clean and the twill of your carpet. My really thick den carpet takes longer, so I always have that room done first.
