carpet/microwaves

Do most students purchuse a carpet through the school program, just get an area rug, or is that just an uneccissary thing altogether? Also, I’ve looked at walmart/target/etc. and i haven’t found any 600 watt microwaves. Is that a closely monitered rule?

from what I know, they sometimes make checks on your room to make sure you don’t have overly plugged extension cords, no staples or tape on the wall, that b.s. so they probably will go around checking microwaves probably which can be good b/c the last thing ppl want is a fire yet it will be very annoying.
the carpet thing, I think ppl only buy it to make the atmosphere more like home, but I don’t know…one hundred something dollars for a carpet I’m only gonna be using for a year seems a bit too much. Might as well just buy a bunch of smaller rug throws at IKEA or something.

Never put any kind of foil in the microwave, and you’re fine…oh, and keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
