“The patient is stable” can often just be code for “he hasn’t died on my shift,” “his systolic blood pressure is over 70,” and “he hasn’t gotten any worse.” It may not mean anything in terms of prognosis. At least that was my experience as a nurse working in an ICU.
Omg news just said she passed away. So sad.

Damnit damnit damnit
This year needs to burn.
RIP. So sad.
This makes me sad. Too young. So many great memories.
This is so sad. I especially feel for her mother and daughter.
What a sad story. I enjoyed her role in Star Wars.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
I’m so sad to hear this. I also feel for her mom and daughter.
Feeling sad too.
Very sad news.
This year definitely going down as one of the suckiest ever.
This is one of the first celebrity deaths in a long time that I’ve cried over. She was iconic to my childhood and Princess Leia taught me that women could kick butt and still have long, fun hair. I will be forever grateful that she brought that character to life and did it so well.
As someone who has struggled with mental illness for nearly half of my young life, I am grateful for the advocacy she did around mental illness. She continues to inspire me (and many others, I’m sure) to be open about my struggles because silence can literally kill.
Sad, sad, sad day.
Sad to hear this, but not surprised, the descriptions I read combined with the first responder training I have had made me think it unlikely she would survive, let alone recover. I doubt crash dieting was the prime cause of this, my guess would be given her use of drugs, especially cocaine, that her heart was not in great shape, cocaine literally kills the heart off every time you use it. I am just so, so sorry her demons caught up to her , she was a very bright, funny person who deserved to be with us a lot longer, I kind of think she only was just coming into her own:)
Blah, just blah.
Oh my! So sad for her friends, family and fans!
this has been a terrible year for deaths.
This sucks. Big time.
I believe one of the reports said she had an anoxic episode (she stopped breathing) on the plane. It could have caused brain damage like Joan Rivers. Purely hypothesizing.
Not Princess Leia.
I just heard on the news that she had completed filming for the eight film. We will have one more Leia.
Just so sad. I hate seeing someone get to a good place and then it all goes poof.
