Carson Scholars Fund

I had just received notice that I have been selected as a Carson Scholar and I was wondering if it is considered to be an honor or not.

The Carson Scholars Fund is a national scholarship competition founded by Dr. Ben Carson for achievements in character, academics, community service, and extracurriculars. Students in grades 4-11 are eligible (I’m in 11th) and last year 400 students were chosen.

I’m not sure of how competitive/prestigious the scholarship is so I’m wondering if it should be placed alongside my National Honor Society induction on my resume or under the “Miscellaneous” category. Either way, however, I am incredibly honored with this award as Ben Carson is my role model. I just want to know how to properly organize my resume.

Thanks!

I was named a Carson Scholar last year and recognized again this year. It is somewhat selective but not super selective. I put “Carson Scholar” in the honors/awards section of my resume.
