@MWolf , OMG that is so cute and cool. LOL. Thank you. And everyone for the follow ups! Maybe I’ll see if I can get a monkey overnight from Amazon as I’m boycotting them in Feb.

My post 822 started it.

I understood the segue. It’s the ghost I didn’t get.

My Navy kid painted 100 pictures of boats for 100 days of kindergarten. My favorite is the one of the Titanic about to hit the iceberg.

A similar story:
I knew an architecture professor, who relayed this story. At gradeschool parent-teacher conferences, the teacher brought out a drawing done by his child. Students had been instructed to draw a picture of their home. His picture was a simple box, so the teacher assumed there might be an issue. All the other students were drawing “typical” homes (gable roof, front door, maybe a plant or two).

Yes, his home WAS a simple box! (This was LONG ago when most homes were not the boxes of today).

There’s also the story where young kids were asked to draw a picture of their mother. To the adults, one kid’s picture could be interpreted as mom on a stripper pole. School officials were very concerned until they asked the kid to describe what was happening in the drawing. He answered something like “she’s shoveling snow” or “she’s sweeping the floor”, or something like that!!!

Not the child’s fault that he/she is a poor artist…

I think my oldest son was in third grade when he came home with artwork one day. There were 4 quadrants. In the upper left was a flag, the upper right was a purple mountain, the lower left was a king and the lower right was a bowl of fruit. All were nicely colored except for the bowl of fruit. I said “oh honey, did you not have time to color the fruit?” He looked at me and gave a big annoyed sigh. “No Mommy, it’s the song, you know the one…oh beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountains majesty, ABOVE THE FRUIT THAT’S PLAIN.” My God, I nearly died laughing after I ran upstairs to laugh in my pillow so he wouldn’t hear me.

Not sure anyone has posted this yet. We are big Costco fans. We are getting closer to be this creative.

Occasionally I’ll do this: sliced bananas, brown sugar, a little bit of cinnamon, butter, and a little bit of water or rum. Bananas Foster – goes great on ice cream. Yum.

DH flambés that banana mixture (with a lot of rum) before spooning over my ice cream. Yum.
