CAS Essay - French or Biology as a topic?

<p>So for sure I’m planning on majoring in biology, but I also want to double major in French. On my common app i listed biology as my first interest as a major, then foreign language as a second. But for my intellectual interest would it be bad if i wrote about french, since it’s not really my primary major? does it seem…more frivilous than biology?</p>

<p>And if i do write about biology, i would hope that it would be alright to digress a bit in the sense that I might write about psychology and relate it back to biology, or some other topic of that nature… </p>

<p>You should fuse elements of french speaking into the field of biological sciences which then can lead to many things…bla bla in ur essay</p>

<p>I would focus on the major you’re applying to (Bio), and then infuse some French interests if it seems natural in the paper. But you’re applying to Biology, so they’re primarily looking to admit you to THAT major.</p>

<p>Only fuse the two ideas if that is your best essay- if you have to force it then don’t. </p>

<p>Including psychology in your bio essay is fine, especially if you are interested in neurobiology- many neurobio+behavior classes are crosslisted both in the biology and psych departments.</p>
