Case Western 2023 spring class

Just got an offer! Anyone else?

did you get the offer by Email? spring or fall?

Email; spring @stl0508

Thank you so much! Congrats!

@redcloud17 what major are you signed up for?

I committed to Spring! I’m having a lot of trouble getting information about both what other people have done in the past (with regards to their time at CWRU and their time during that fall semester). Any helpful links?

It is also practically impossible to figure out who is in the incoming spring class this year, I wonder if there’s a way to connect us all more than this thread (or if there is already one that I am just haven’t seen).

@PineappleOnPizza I was accepted into biology.

@lala552 I know that there’s a FB group for the class of 2023, but we could always create a GroupMe or SC group or something for the Spring people  I can create a GroupMe, if you would like, and then we can advertise it on the FB group.

Many, many people purposefully do NOT/not use FaceBook.

What is everyone planning on doing for the fall semester?

Case has only offered spring admission off the waitlist once before (last year).

What did Case tell you was allowed? Like are you allowed to take classes at a CC?

Any non-credit classes, research, volunteering.

Is anyone else here still on the waitlist? Case included a form in the most recent email for students to indicate their interest in a gap year, but you can’t take any classes during that time. I don’t want to wait a whole year so I only checked spring on the form

@bopper Basically anything, as long as you aren’t taking the place of a degree-seeking student (I think that was the exact phrasing?). So classes, research, volunteering, study-abroad…anything you can do during a gap year (this is a gap semester)!

I got the “do you want a gap year” email at the end of may, said yes, then was ghosted all of june. Should I call them? My most recent update on my portal is from when I got waitlisted. I’m v confused

@opeee Was that “do you want to do a gap year” or “do you want to do a gap year if admitted?”
I would contact your admissions counselor and ask about your status.
https://case.edu/admission/contact

It was “do you want a gap year if admitted” sorry that was unclear. I finally got a rejection email today. They really strung me along for 9 months!

Just got offered Spring admission OR Fall 2020 admission! I’m waiting on financial aid award …hopefully the same as their initial award.

@hannahannah Congrats! What are you thinking about majoring in?

Does anyone know if philosophy is a good class to take during my gap semester? Is it a class that will fill one of my graduation requirements for the school of engineering?

@rwang5 Dunno if you already got an answer to your question, but philosophy would be helpful if you have any requirements for the History, Philosophy, and Religion sequence. Which I don’t think you would. Philosophy could be an extra few hours towards your graduation requirement hours.
