Case Western [$57k] vs Temple [$25k] for Public Health or Computational Biology (premed)

Hi all,

I am a student in Pennsylvania and I am trying to decide between case western and temple university. Temple (in state) is coming out to about 25k and case is about 57k per year.

I plan to study something related to public health and computational biology on a premed track. I was wondering if cwru is worth the extra money to attend. Thanks!

Who is paying the extra money…and will it be funded with loans?

If you are planning medical school, I would suggest keeping undergrad loans to a minimum or zero.

Depends on how much money you and your parents have.

If they are plutocrats for whom ~$250k for your undergraduate and ~$500k for medical school is pocket change for them, then cost is unlikely to matter in your decision.

On the other hand, if anything more than $25k per year requires debt, then you need to consider that significant debt for undergraduate just adds to the debt you will have for medical school if you get in.

Do your parents have $250,000 for undergrad plus another $400.000 for medical school?

Did you get into Honors at Temple?
Can your family pay 57k without parental loans?
