I know somebody with a little less than a 3.5/4.00 GPA and a 2200 who got into Case Western PPSP Medicine.

is it that easy to get into?

2200 is National Merit Finalist territory, and nothing to sneer at.

Depending on the courses that the 3.5 was earned in, that may be nothing to sneer at either.

So, no, I don’t think this program is particularly “easy to get into”.

lol actually his classes were all honors/ap but a lot of students (including myself have done this)

Through Senior year he took

5 Years of Math (including AP Stat/Calc)
6 Years Science (including chem ap/bio ap)
4 years of english (mandatory)
3 years of spanish
1 year of history (2 online)

really he didn’t do much.

we were all shocked he got in

Sorry, either you’re full of it or you’re a ■■■■■.
Course-wise, that’s plenty strong, a 2200 is a very strong score.
Probably were ECs as well, many of which you’re unaware of, which is how it should be.

^ i second that…u dont know his ECs …

or his essays, which are probably weighted heavily.

isn’t case western ppsp second tier anyways? first tier being northwestern, rice/baylor, brown. so it makes sense

a 2200 SAT is in the 99%tile

^ no it’s not.

Can I throw poo too?

And the win goes to MidwestParent by the slimmest of margins. ;)

Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

That page should be banned from the internet and locked away in a top-secret file code-named, “The Dumbing Down of America, 2008.” Is anyone else seriously disturbed/scared of the statistics as they scroll down the pdf? Sheesh…

(and sorry, MidwestParent. I was, unfortunately, wrong)

D. did not get in with 4.0, graduated #1 from her HS. Was not even invited to interview. She got into combined program at another school where she is happily attending now. However, we know somebody with lower stats from my D’s HS who had connections at PPSP and got in. Here is possible answer. D was not upset, she thinks her other school has worked better for her.

Thanks for backin’ me up Curm.

Acceptd you are forgiven.

MiamiDAP,
Many schools are looking for geographic diversity in their matriculant pool. The applicant OP is referring to probably also had this advantage, which your DD did not.

I agree that 2200 is a very good score and the ECs may have been stellar.
