We are looking forward to our S’s time in Cleveland. I’ll be honest and tell you that I was not thrilled with Cleveland when we drove in to our hotel a couple of nights before our official visit. However, visiting the campus was like being in a different city! It seemed very safe, diverse, and eclectic. Actually, the area around the university reminds me very much of Rice U. in Houston–the medical center is on one side and the museum district is on the other.
As of right now, he wants to double major in biology and either macromolecular engineering or materials science engineering. He has a lot of science interests so that may change, even before he starts his first semester! I have been told that the optional orientation week prior to the beginning of the fall semester is a “don’t miss” event and worth the few extra dollars. So he will be doing that as well.
