Parent here. Was copied on an email from CWRU to my student – EA decision will be released on Thursday, 12/18, with more details emailed the evening before.

My student also received a letter about decision on 12-18. But CWRU also sent a mail asking for a new “Parent Asset clarification form”! Anybody else received it?

I have not (we did not apply for financial aid) but know of one other parent who got a similar request recently.

We received that letter as well.

We had that request in the portal under financial aid info a while back - I think they require more info than the CSS profile and FASFA, and so collect it that way.

EA results are out, although there is no email with instructions as they promised in their email yesterday.

Got the email at 5:05PST. Rejected but this was a reach

Identical but Statistics major. If they end up there they probably hang out!

Accepted for spring 2027 with merit. Options for fall 2026 were to apply ED2 (with acceptance almost guaranteed) or spend the fall in Madrid. Or… wait until March on waitlist results. So it feels like a deferral and is very off-putting honestly. Higher stats kid who was actually very interested, until they felt like a pawn in a game

Had seen that last or the past couple years CWRU played this game. Kinda blackmailing kids into ED2. Not a great practice. College admissions as game theory isn’t fun. However, does at least give you an opportunity to make an informed decision. Best of luck on your decision.

Deferred asking to apply ED-2 or RD.

Same feeling here. I was sure that my daughter will get it!

S26 also deferred to ED2 or RD. (High SAT, several STEM AP classes and ECs).

Reading last year’s thread in CC this was something that happened to a lot of EA applicants.

On the one hand I was frustrated with this approach to protecting their yield, but the more I think about it I can understand where they are coming from. I know a lot of students have CWRU high on their list given the strength of the academics, but I imagine it might be hard to recruit a lot of high achieving students from all over the country to Cleveland (as lovely as I am sure it is).
