I was accepted to both Case Western and SUNY Binghamton. I received a merit scholarship at Case Western which get’s the tuition of Case Western within $10K/year of SUNY Binghamton. Is Case Western worth the extra money.
Simply put, yes.
Do you have the extra 10K? Is that 10K after the federal loans or without?
If it’s (tuition, fees, room, board) - (scholarships/grants) (ie., before any loan), then it’s absolutely doable:
you’ll get $5,500 in loans, start working ASAP and earn $2-3,000, and work on campus (work-study?) or off campus to make up the rest for personal expenses. The 10k are covered.
If it’s 10K AFTER the federal loans, then it’s a different kettle of fish - you’d need your parents to contribute about 5,000 dollars to make it possible.
If you can, it’s money well-spent, Case is fantastic and if you got such a large scholarship it means they really want you and they see you as a great fit for their school.
awww yeah. yeah, if you’re just trying to pay like 10k extra and dont have the money, then start working and save up. Case is a great school. I applied Early, got deferred, then waitlisted. I’m hoping to get off the waitlist, but tbh im not sure if I’d pay 60k (which im likely to pay off the waitlist). i just want the self pride of being accepted.
