Hi all! How hard is it to get off of case western’s waitlist, and how can I maximize my chances of getting into Case western off the waitlist. I really want to go to this university
Follow the instructions of what they say to do - that’s step one.
And then move on - emotionally - find that school you’re going to end up and get jazzed.
CWRU is a school with poor yield so they load up the WL.
In the most recent year they admitted over 11,000 - and they WL even more than that. More than half their applicants are either accepted or WL - that’s how many they WL.
Think about that for such a “competitive” school.
That said, last year they took 1,141 off the WL last year.
The year prior, 436.
So they have seen substantial movement - which is great - but on any wait list, you don’t want to stay emotionally invested. Since their yield is traditionally very low, they likely will continue to have to tap it - but their reputation is strong and perhaps their yield will increase over time, thus making the WL les snecessary.
They should give you an FAQ - telling you what to do - and they should tell you how they choose. Often times, they go to full pay first - and they’ll let you know they’re “need aware”.
So read their FAQs, follow along, and then move on (in your mind)!!
Best of luck.
