^^cartera i agree about the football thing…didnt like that… first time i’ve seen this attorney…she is making good points but dont like her tone…she sounds too angry and sounds personal…ashton didnt do that

did anyone just see Casey’s angry reaction when she heard the prosecutor say her behavior demonstrated indifference?

i can actually see casey turning an accident into a murder scenario… if they find her, they’ll blame someone else…if its an accident they’ll blame me…

not that i’m saying that is what happened here…just as a response to the prosecution saying no none would turn an accident into a murder

^doesn’t make sense to me, even the sociopath that Casey is, if there was an accident she wouldn’t imagine herself even being held responsible. she would have blamed an accident on someone else, ie. my mother should have been watching her, etc.

but as we know there was no accident.

wow those jail house calls were chilling…“all anyone cares about is caylee!!!”

btw when did she get that tattoo?

I agree that Linda Drane Burdick’s tone was annoying most of the time but, aside from that, loved most of her comments. I thought her point about acknowledging everyone handles grief differently but that everyone handles guilt the same was really an effective argument in rebutting the grief counselor. I also thought the audio/video segments were extremely effective.

My “biggest fear” in this trial is that the jurors will somehow take pity on Casey because she is an attractive young woman and they will all decide on a lesser charge than the maximum penalty or not be able to reach a verdict at all.

Lizard, it was bad strategy on the defense attorney’s part to take their full 4 hrs for the closing remarks. Had they shortened it to 2 hours, then, the prosecutors would have finished out the evening. They knew they would be running into the later evening hours with taking the full time. The prosecution team was brilliant and she should be convicted of Murder One.
Linda Burdick was brilliant in her closing rebuttal as was Ashton.

well those charges kind of confused me…could see at least 2 of them fitting (and also the lying to police parts). but then a commentator just said something like…if they find it was a one time child abuse thing… it could result in only a 5 year sentence!! sorry didnt catch the whole thing

I think that happens when the defendant is an attractive, charming young woman. This is an attractive, chilling young woman with no magnetism. I don’t think your fear will be realized.

I don’t think murder one with the death sentence. I see her eventually getting a lesser manslaughter conviction. She’ll end up sitting in the Lowell women’s prison for 30 years. When she gets out she’ll phone her brother for a ride and he’ll take her back to Orlando and dump her off on S. Orange Blossom Trail to fend for herself. She needn’t think about calling Tony in 30 years, I don’t think he’ll be waiting around for her to get out!

I hope she gets a life sentence. (I don’t believe in the death penalty under any circumstances.) At the least, I hope she is incarcerated past the time she can have any more kids.

If the defense was counting on the “too pretty for jail” defense they should have dolled her up a whole lot better.

I think the jurors saw Casey’s cold rage simmering beneath the surface today as she listened to Burdick’s closing comments. Interesting that she could not be stone faced when hearing the prosecution’s dead on take on her indifference.

agree cartera… cant support death penalty either.

I also don’t believe in the death penalty. Hoping she rots in jail for the rest of her life.

Normally I agree with Catera, but I do think the death penalty is appropriate in certain cases. This time I vote guilty with life imprisonment. From the testimony that I saw, I think she’s mentally ill.

It’s obviously too late for her to change her plea, and she’s well-spoken enough that perhaps the jury wouldn’t have found her not guilty by reason of insanity anyway. I would worry about the Anthonys’ lives if she was was released.

Do you mean they’d be in danger from Casey, or from vigilantes?

Legal insanity is a different standard than psychiatric insanity. To be considered legally insane, she would have to lack the understanding that her actions were wrong. With a psychopath, which I think she is, they know what’s wrong, they just don’t care.

Guilty and I would put the needle in her arm myself.

Mantori - In danger from Casey.

This almost deserves its own thread, but is anyone else hooked on Nancy Grace’s reporting of the trial? She really gets my blood pressure going…but it’s like watching a train wreck. I just can’t turn her off.

lol neonzeus…i just cant watch that woman! i get so angry with her…i would probably vote not guilty on any case she was involved in

and i thought earlier casey might have had some thoughts about her parents prior to this whole thing
