Casey Anthony?

Maybe this is semantics but she was not found “innocent.” She was found “not guilty.” She could have been involved in her daughter’s death but the jury did not find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. That doesn’t mean she is innocent.

momma-three, thank you for letting us know a few minutes ago that Casey Anthony was found not guilty! :D

If I were Casey Anthony, I’d sue the pants off of Nancy Grace.

Oh, c’mon! I did not need to picture that.

Also…Not guilty for child endangerment.

I just figured some might have missed the news…sorry you guys are obviously following this case very closely.

Nancy Grace did the same thing in the Duke Lacrosse case.

And she never apologized for it.

Well, these “Casey talk show” appearances will be interesting if her parents are with her. George is going to insist that he didn’t know, and what’s Casey going to say?

Or, will Jose advise her to do appearances without her parents?

I can’t imagine for a moment that George Anthony will make any public appearances with his daughter, ever. He may not even speak to her.

jsanche32 - so what is your belief? I am not asking you about the evidence - I’m asking you what your gut says about Casey Anthony.

Casey won’t be employable in any kind of regular job because she does have felony convictions.

I think her parents should tell Jose that Casey can live with him. They were not happy with the results.

Stand corrected, she is not innocent, but is not guilty…that said, i do believe she was involved in the death, but lack of evidence has me supporting the jury’s decision

Yes, and add to that – having the “right” look. Unfortunately, there are people who have the misfortune of looking like society’s preconceived picture of a criminal and are convicted with much less evidence.

And if I knew someone on that jury I would view them in a different light now. The same way I would view someone who had served on OJ’s jury.

I was pretty sure she would get off the murder 1 charges since it was a capital case. I had stated I thought the DA was greedy in going after the max charges. He really got his comeuppance here.

I am shocked that she did not get child endangerment or abuse. You can just not report your toddler missing for a month and get away with a slap on the hand? In this case, the media is making sure justice is done. Too bad the parents are hit so hard. Psychopaths like her are probably not affected much with this things, but I 'm sure they are truly devastated and exhausted. Plus they will probably end up taking Casey back in after this.

She’ll get 4 years max, and with time served, she’ll be out in no time.

I made it pretty clear in my earlier posts that I did not think the evidence was there to get a murder 1 but I think she neglected/abused that child and lied, lied, lied about it. How anyone can think that someone else dumped that body is beyond me.

My objective belief is that there wasn’t enough proof to convict her of killing her daughter.

Subjectively speaking, it looks like her daughter may have drowned and she panicked. She tried to cover up the drowning (It’s completely possible that she tried to do this because she truly was negligent and she didn’t want the police finding this out) .

Once she built up a web of lies, she continued on with her lies/obfuscations by sheer inertia. After a period of this, she started to go into denial (Easier to go into denial than actually think about the fact that your daughter drowned and you might be responsible). That’s when she started going out to parties etc… She wanted to to push the memories of the event completely out of her mind.

Time for George to divorce Cindy. I think Cindy will take her back home which will push George out.

I also hope the Judge will give her the full fours years if he is allowed to do so. Even if that means she only spends another year in jail - I don’t want to see her walk out of that jail on Thursday.

I don’t buy the drowning story because when Cindy brings it up to her on the jail call - she didn’t even flinch. She just said “Surprise, Surprise”. But there was no eye or body movement at all. Usually if you are keeping a secret - and that’s the ultimate secret - and someone says something about it - there’s usually a physical reaction of some sort.

Baez had me convinced on Sunday that the state didn’t PROVE their case. Not having a cause of death was probably the lynchpin. Personally, I was glad to see that smirk wiped of Jeff Ashton’s face.

Wouldn’t there be at least some sort of charge of improper disposal of a body? I mean if you go by the defense, they say that Casey was aware of an accidental drowning and her father helped her to dispose of the body and make it look like a murder. It is very obvious this child was thrown in the swampy woods by Casey, even if it was an accident as she claims (note the family laundry bag, duct tape, sticker, blankie, etc.). Isn’t that a crime itself?

A lot of people have a poker face. You can’t just assume that because she didn’t flinch that the scenario is implausible.

I don’t blame the prosecutors. The last thing we need in this country is for DAs to think they can only bring charges in cases where there is loads of forensic evidence and the case is open and shut.
