She was young and healthy. Many young healthy adults take no advantage of health insurance. They feel fine and never go to the doctor. She likely took Caylee to the health dept for all her shots and well baby/well child visits. She might have said it was the “doctor.”

sunnyflorida, I understand that. Still, since she seemed so irresponsible, I would have thought that C and G would have asked to see evidence of health coverage. Obviously, you could not just ask Casey if she had some type of health coverage and expect a truthful answer. Cindy is a nurse, so I am sure she is aware that young adults can also get cancer, Casey could get pregnant a second time, be stricken with acute illnesses such as appendicitis, etc.

if she had health ins probably george and cindy were paying for it…

If Casey/Caylee were low income, they’d probably have Medicaid.

I was just wondering if one gets major med with a full tiime job at Universal. If she did not have major medical as an event planner with Universal, that might have tipped off parents that she was not working there.

The Judge has said that he is assessing 1 year in jail for each of the 4 lying convictions to be served consecutively. Time served and good time etc credits to be determined later.

Back to the pokey for Casey.
Cancel the party at Fusion until later.

How much longer in jail??

4 times 365 days, minus time served (3+ years) and reduced by two possible credits (good time and something else I couldn’t make out).

NY Times says end of the month or August. UHG!!!

And, YES, she is a high school dropout.

Casey should be fined heavily. In about 6 weeks, Florida teachers will return to work to find that there is very little money for materials, etc. However, we are paying sheriff deputies to protect the Anthony’s. Oh, and let’s not even get into all of the money that was spent on investigating her lies.

Does anyone else get the idea that HLN Jane Velez-Mitchell is trying to rile-up of enrage the people outside of the courthouse?

A news report I just watched stated that 15 months of the time Casey has spent in jail has already been applied to the felony cases she was convicted of.

Wonder how that could impact the time served for this case. Hope someone remembers to note this fact to the judge if true.

Judge Alex Ferrer estimated on CNN that, according to what Judge Perry said, she will serve till prob next July/Aug 2012 minus “gain time” which is time served with good behavior which is 5 days per month served. She has been in 35 months. So she may get out as early as December.

In light of the possibility that Casey is going to “cash in” from all of this…much the result of her lies, the court needs to fine her as much as they can.

I don’t know if there’s a way to give her a high fine which will essentially take a good part of her book deal money or whatever.

She needs to be heavily fined to send a notice to those who think lying like this is ok.

And…don’t forget…she still hasn’t been sentenced for those other felonies…about 7 of them. She’s served for the first several felonies, but not the rest.

Wow! I was away for 2 days and this thread has accumulated mucho pages! No hope of reading all the comments.

I didn’t follow this case and don’t know enough to form an informed opinion on her guilt or lack thereof. I can say, though, that it will be beyond disgusting if she is allowed to profit from this. I imagine that she will now stop dressing like a postulant and, as soon as she is free, make the rounds of the talk shows wearing slinky clothes and lots of makeup.

She already had her hair down for her court appearance this morning, I suspect in anticipation of hitting the street today. It even looked darker to me than it was the other day.

Oh, and if she’s going to go to the trouble of changing her name to protect herself, she might as well get that tattoo lasered off her back shoulder. Everybody knows what that looks like and who it belongs to by now!

RE:

the argument earlier in the thread about whether “not guilty” means “innocent.”

Juror number three stated in her interview that “Not guilty does not mean innocent.” Legally, her statement is meaningless, yet it is still interesting that the term “not guilty” has different meaning to different people.

C’mon - let’s not go down that road again - that was about 50 pages long LOL

We agree to disagree.
