<p>Is there a place we can cash checks at Cornell? My bank is TD North, so I don’t know how to turn them into cash…thanks.</p>
<p>I’m an applicant, but I’d like to think I’m an expert on cashing of checks. There are two banks in the Cornell Bookstore lobby that will be happy to let you write a check to cash for yourself. In addition, I’m sure a place like Wegman’s will cash checks for you, as will a lot of other merchants. There are also probably some banks in Ithaca that will cash checks. You just write the check out in the pay to the order of line as “Cash”.</p>
<p>I think OP is referring to a third party check, which could only be cashed at one’s bank or a special check cashing place (they would usually charge a fee). My daughter usually has me deposit checks for her or she makes a special a trip herself (her bank is a driving distance away).</p>
