Cast Iron Cookware Question

I am finally attempting to re-organize and take inventory of my cookware, utensils etc. Throwing out little used and worn out pots and pans.

Well of course the task started out with a thud. I broke the glass lid for my Lodge cast iron dutch oven. I’ve searched online for a replacement; a lid that is interchangeable with the dutch oven and my 10 inch skillet. Will a 10.25" lid fit the 10" skillet? I’d consider a quality tempered glass lid (with the metal rim). My original glass cover had no metal rim, which is probably why it broke when I dropped it in the sink.

I didn’t make it clear. I want to replace my original lid with a cast iron lid.

Maybe this will be helpful, but I’d suggest giving Lodge customer service a phone call.

Will this fit this Dutch oven set? Lodge L8DD3 Double Dutch Oven and Casserole with Skillet Cover, 5-Quart
Answer: It fits the pot perfectly and also a big 10-in Lodge skillet. What it doesn´t fit is the oven´s skillet cover as both have an inner lip but you can try find a regular stainless steel or aluminum cover that fits the latter and can use the skillet cover as a pot too. I do that.

Question: Will this 10 1/4" lid fit nicely on a 10" skillet?
Answer: It will fit. My skillet is 10" (inside measurement); just over 10 1/4" (outside measurement) and the lid fits perfectly. The inside rim of the lid is 9 3/4 " . I would attach a picture but it is not possible to attach one.

Also, try eBay. I’ve been able to find replacement lids, handles, etc. for things I already own.

Look around online and see where there’s a good hardware store or other supplier where you could buy a lid locally. Then bring your skillet with you to try on for size. If you can’t do that, call Lodge and ask for help.

Looks like the Cabela 10" lid will fit. Just ordered it today.

Update: the Cabela lid fits like a charm on both the 10" skillet (a no name brand) and on my Wagner dutch oven. I am considering a second, larger lid for my Wagner chicken deep frying skillet, which is 10.25 inches in diameter.

New Food Network cast iron skillet is a fail.

The pre-seasoning doesn’t work. Eggs and everything else hangs on to the bottom of the pan like glue. Also, the handle gets as hot has hades. My Wagner skillet and my Cajun Classic skillets perform much better.
