I noticed and loved the woodwork too!
We have a 15 pound behemoth as well, our sweetheart (not a tuxedo).
Everyone thinks our tuxedo is a kitten, but she is the “get off my lawn” old lady of our two cats. She just smol.
We have been catsitting our little kids’ tiny (in comparison to our cats) kitty. She js about 6 pounds but oh so feisty! Our giant 14-pound tabby guy is deathly afraid of her! We rigged a baby gate at the top of the stairs and hung a bunch of baby rattles on it to separate the cats in space. Which seems to be working just fine because neither the “downstairs cats” nor the visitor kitty want to scale the gate.
Thanks all! Our house is 115+ years old. I love it most of the time - except when things break…
She thinks she’s a “copy” cat. ![]()
(Edited to correct gender; sorry, kitty!)
She definitely does!
I put my phone away and missed catching her trying to wash her butt on the edge of the printer… ![]()
I think we’re being adopted…this Big Buddy (as I’ve been calling him for at least 2 years, my D says since Covid days, she’s probably right) comes and hangs out in our yard a lot. Has been for a couple of years. During the rain the last few weeks he slept on the patio sofa which is covered (protected) from the rain.
I worry about him. And talk to him a lot. I’m hopeful he has a home and just likes our yard. Mostly I really just want to know that he has a home.
I now assume he’s feral because he scampered from his cozy spot when I opened the door to go talk to him. He sat on the fence, and I told him I’d get him some food & water. A few minutes after I put some kibble down he was scarfing it. Drank a bit, and groomed his paws. I’ll keep an eye on him.
I can’t let him in the house because we have Kona that comes for extended periods of time and she & Big Buddy have hissing parties through the slider when she’s here. This is her house.
I wrote that about a week ago - Big Buddy comes by each day, sometimes sits on the fence where we can see one another (him from his perch, me from my office desk). He just ate the kibbles I put out for him this morning.
I’m ok being adopted from afar. I mean look at that face!
Awww… a black kitty.
I’m sure he appreciates what you do for him.
I gotta say, he doesn’t look like he’s starving :). Beautiful boy!
He’s chunky, but I can’t decide if that’s just his coat - he’s always looked chunky to me.
He looks like a tomcat to me.
D1 has been worried about her 15 year old cat since the summer. She was getting antisocial and just didn’t seem happy. Since the cross country move in the car with the 2 dogs the cat is now living her best life in CT. She loves their house and is spending time being out with everyone. I know she has some health issues, but D1 is so happy to see her be like her old self again.
We are finally down to three cats! Kid came by and picked up her kitty that camped out at our house while her family was away. This cat was not a fan of our big tabby so she had to be separated upstairs by a baby gate that thankfully neither of the cats wanted to scale.
The gate is taken down, and somehow we miss the cat! Our cats are also showing signs of some mild anxiety: there is a change in their surroundings! Cats… ![]()
We’ve been traveling and had a cat sitter come and live with the cats. Our “kitten” (actually, he turned 1 while we are away) doesn’t look like he misses us. He gets to sleep with the cat sitter, but not with us.
Our cats have the heated beds - they love them in the winter and completely ignore them in the summer.
