The one on the right looks just like our wonderful boy we lost last year. Best cat ever!
So sorry about losing your sweet kitty. D2’s are both females. Honeydew on the left and Tangerine on the right.
Only a quarter of ginger cats are females. You daughter scored two! ![]()
This is Marley, the female ginger who adopted a restaurant on the Big Island. She was named after Bob Marley because of her personality but then the staff realized the cat was a she.
They stopped calling her Bob, so she is simply Marley.
My Ginger is the sweetest shelter cat that was turned in by her owners after having claws removed from all 4 feet! Who does that and then turns in the cat to the shelter? Apparently their big Rottweiler didn’t like the cat.
My Ginger is a she! My son wanted 2 female gingers from the shelter but he already had a cat that just does not like to be around other cats. He has to baby her for another 10 years or so.
I know it’s a long shot, but has anyone on here used the Ziggy Doo Ferris Wheel cat wheel? Our big (15.5 lb) cat is “attacking” our much smaller (8ish lbs) cat, and I’m told maybe a cat wheel will help him get exercise/help him be less aggressive. I really don’t want to buy a $600+ device cat may not use, but it’s so bad, and she is so terrified of him we have actually thought of re-homing him. I have reached out to both our vet and the breeder for ideas, but if anyone here has any, feel free to suggest.
We do already have lots of toys, we live in a fairly large house he has access to, and we play with him pretty regularly.
Thanks
Oh no
cat issues is no fun.
Reddit has a long thread about the wheel you asked about:
Thanks - I read several of those posts, which made me think I should go with the more expensive one.
Well, I decided it was the cat wheel or military school, so in early March we expect to have a big ole cat wheel in our house. No clue yet where we will put it, but even AI says a cat wheel is good for Bengals, and reading reviews and seeing photos it just seems like th $500 one is better for a large cat.
In related news, it is pretty clear his “attacks” are just meant to play, but our small female cat wants nothing to do with it
Fingers crossed!
Thanks - he can be so sweet when he’s calm, and is fun to play with, but he is VERY high energy. My 2 females didn’t require as much attention.
Crossing my fingers that the cat wheel will work. You have to post a video of him on it for us!
A very cool looking orange cat named Mango was hanging around the bar at a hotel on Oahu when we vacationed there recently.
What a cool swirl on his midsection.
Our cat has a similar swirl on each side of her body. She was born in the “ice cream litter.” Her name with breeder was Chocolate Swirl, but we call her Swirl. It wouldn’t surprise me if that cat is part Bengal. (Bengals are actually illegal in Hawaii. I found that out when I was talking to a lady who clearly owned a Bengal but insisted her cat was a “feral cat” when I suggested it was a Bengal.
Just kind of funny… I just showed my H the pic and said “What do you think, Bengal or no Bengal?” He said “Bengal.” I said “It’s in Hawaii.” He said “Then it’s not a Bengal.”
I once saw a woman with a bengal cat on a leash (!!) strolling through the Honolulu airport. She said her cat had a special “passport” and was a frequent visitor, together with his human.
She must have listed him as “mixed breed” if bengals are prohibited! ![]()
D is on vacation hiking in the desert west. We are all taking turns visiting and tending to her cat. Son and his gf checked on her today and she was having a seizure!! Scared the crap out of them for sure. Poor thing is now in an animal hospital being treated with anti-seizure drugs, D gets home tomorrow morning and will have all that to deal with, along with TWO FEET of snow possibly coming Sunday night/all day Monday.
Poor little thing…………..really saddens us because of how attached she is to her cat—she says the cat makes her apartment feel like she isn’t there alone.
UPDATE: Idiot vets wanted her to drive her cat TWO hours into the approaching storm Sunday night to get an MRI for her cat!! Finally convinced her that was madness, and they held her cat over the weekend.
Waiting to hear news about the cat—my fear is that the vet clinic will milk her for all she’s worth, preying on her emotions on a fool’s errand to save the cat, even though the final result will not change even after they bleed her for THOUSANDS of dollars.
Yet, somehow I am the bad guy in all this…..no, I am NOT trying to kill your cat, but you have to see that she is suffering and what is about to happen is inevitable……
