<p>I just checked Cate’s online status through cate.org (<a href=“https://community.cate.org/admission/application”>https://community.cate.org/admission/application&lt;/a&gt;) and saw that my daughter’s Status had changed to “Wait” from “Rdy/Active”. From what I can tell it’s not an official site that you’re supposed to go to check admission status (unlike portals like PA or other schools use, Cate said they’d email decisions by March 10). I thought it was meant for submitting applications only. Does this mean that she’s been waitlisted? Has anyone ever encountered this, and it was accurate? Or has anyone applied online this year and can check their status to see if their status has changed to something other than “Rdy/Active”? </p>

<p>If this is indeed the decision, does anyone know how large the Cate WL is and whether it moves? Do schools WL people to gauge applicant response (let the lobbying begin!) and to improve yield? Does it help to call our AO and let him know how much she’d like to go there, and it was actually her first choice? Help!!! I can’t believe this is happening so early!</p>

<p>I think “wait” probably means waiting for the admission decision instead of waitlist</p>

<p>I just checked mine and it says deny…i really hope this doesn’t signify anything. i’ve just e-mailed the admission office and hopefully they’ll get bk to me soon ):</p>

<p>Oy, another portal snafu it seems. Wonder if this will drive more people to check the portals pre-M10 or get people to lay off until M10.</p>

<p>Well why don’t one of you call the admissions office? You don’t even have to say who you are-- just say the status changed on the portal and ask what that means? If they have a messed up portal, they’d want to know.</p>

<p>Sounds like a glitch on the portal, but at this late stage, I would think you might’ve just had a glimpse of the upcoming decision. Just wait for the official notice to verify it. Is there anyone whose status has changed to “admit”? </p>

<p>Just saw that Cate changed my D’s status back to “Rdy/Active” so they probably caught the glitch. Methinks that what we saw was probably the official decision. What to do next? Wait for official email/letter or contact the office?</p>

<p>Last year, Cate sent my son an email notification early in the morning (7AM) on March 9 last year (as M10 was Saturday). Also, I guess the applicants could log on to Cate’s website and see the results there too.
The message that you guys saw this year should be a glitch or the result of arbitrary test-runs and hopefully not the official decision. </p>
