Catering help in Elizabethtown, PA help

Help! I have to arrange for two meals in the Elizabethtown area this summer and I am clueless. First one is a for a takeout lunch for about 14 people – someone can go pick-up the food. Second one is for a picnic for about 35 people. What I would like is like a grocery store with a good deli where I could order relish trays, cold salads, etc along with stuff to grill hamburgers and brats. Nothing fancy for either meal, nothing terribly exotic.

Do not ask why the stranger in-law from Iowa is planning and organizing meals for people who all live in the area. Do not ask why out of thirty some people who will be present at a family reunion all of whom live in the area their sole contribution will be to make a reservation at the picnic shelter for the family picnic. Just don’t ask.

I have no pertinent knowledge but the wording of your question makes me sympathize!

If nobody comes along with specific advice, how about using Google Maps – put in Elizabethtown, then “deli”, “grocery”, etc. I tried it and found one grocery called Darrenkamps. Their website shows several party trays. If you’re willing to drive a bit, a different site says Pronio’s Market in Hershey is within 10 miles, and it has some nice reviews ("his meat is personally cut for you, his deli selections are great, and his prepared foods are delicious) on citysearch.com. Good luck! Sounds like it will be…an interesting gathering.

One of the big grocery stores in the Central PA area is Giant Food. The deli selection is pretty good.

I don’t know if there is a Wegman’s Grocery store in or near Elizabtehtown, but if there is your guests will be in for a treat. They have a huge deli, they cater and have tons of international food too.

Black Griffin, a restaurant at E-town serves decent food. They may cater or you can pick up the food. There is a Giant, located about 15 minutes of driving straight down Route 743 in Hershey. It is a pretty scenic drive. Have fun.

Thanks guys, keep the ideas coming. I am actually looking at Mount Joy, with people coming from all over the county, so any ideas are welcome.

There is a Weis Markets in Elizabethtown and they also have good deli stuff.

[Weis Markets: Store Detail](http://www.weismarkets.com/store_detail.php?order_id=&session=&id=69)

When DS was at Etown we always ate at Pizzatown (italian) so that doesnt help.

There is a Giant IN Etown too.

There’s a Wegmans in Mechanicsburg, which is about 40 minutes from Elizabethtown. I’m not sure if there’s another one closer. I do agree that Wegmans is very good, though. :)
