<p>I didn’t read all of the posts. OP is your son going to school in a state where he could get a medical license or where you only get a ticket if caught. My concern is less about his smoking pot, than it is around the consequences for being caught in a state where the rules are strict. I think many many kids smoke pot, and I am of the belief that most parents do not know everything about what their children do. Most kids quit smoking around junior year, and I think that many kids at so-called “top schools” smoke and drink.</p>
<p>I might consider focusing less on “controlling” his use and instead helping him to keep safe legally when smoking. I think you may not have the influence over him that you wish to. Many many kids smoke pot, and believe it or not some are prescribed it for anxiety, sleep issues, and for some physical medical illnesses.</p>
